Today was Rev. John Iwohara’s last official service as the Resident Minister and Rev. Ray Fukumoto’s last participation as a regular contributing minister. Rev. John will be leaving to Gardena Buddhist Temple and Rev. Ray, off to his next adventure. Today was a regular Dharma School service. Rev. John’s message today was filled with memories of his 12 years leading the temple in our Nenbutsu teachings. He will be missed, however, he will still be involved since Gardena will be the supervising temple for Venice until a new minister is assigned. The anticipated wait is one year plus. A “Stone Soup” curry luncheon followed with the DS students and staff preparing the Kid’s Corner.
Thank you to all who came to say farewell, but not good bye. We will be meeting again.
