The VHBT Jr. YBA will be hosting the Southern District Seminar 1 on February 17, 2013, at the temple. The theme for the seminar is dana (giving). One of the workshops will be an activity to put together packages of items for the group My Friends’ Place, an organization that supports homeless youth. The Jr. YBA is asking temple members and friends if they could please donate any of the following items:
- gently used backpacks
- AAA or AA batteries
- shoelaces
- travel sized toiletries (toothbrushes, dental floss, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, sunscreen, etc.)
- bus tokens
- coloring books/drawing pads
- composition/spiral notebooks
- pocket folders
- flashcards
- ballpoint pens
- fast food coupons/Target cards in $5 amounts
- any school supplies
There should be a collection box in the social hall of the temple. You can also contact the Jr. YBA advisors, Iris Gee or Vicki Tokirio, if you wish to have us pick up items. We can also provide receipts for your donation.
