Venice Hongwanji Buddhist Temple will be hosting this year’s Tri-Temple Seminar between us, Gardena Buddhist Church, and West Los Angeles Buddhist Temple.

The theme for this year is “Current’s of Change: From Traditional to Today.” We will explore and discuss Jodo Shinshu and its propagation in modern times, the ministry as it is today and in its future development and current gender roles at our temples.
Our guest speaker will be Rev. Patricia Usuki, Resident Minister of the San Fernando Hongwanji Buddhist Temple.
Rev. Usuki is the author of “Currents of Change: American Buddhist Women Speak Out on Jodo Shinshu,” and a BCA minister for over 15 years. She will share her unique insights on the seminar topics and will also relate them to historical times and to Shinran Shonin’s original vision.
