Hatsumairi (Infant Presentation Ceremony) is a ceremony in which a child is presented to Amida Buddha for the first time. We held our last Dharma School service of 2016. Also, our Jr. YBA cabinet was installed, and we enjoyed otoki from Rutts afterwards.
We held our Eitaikyo service, when we remembered all those whose contributions to the temple in the past allow us to continue to hear the dharma today. After the service, we recognized the attainment of Kaikyoshi status by Rev. Kory Quon, and also celebrated his birthday during otoki.

The staff for the VHBT Dharma School was formally installed last Sunday. Afterwards we had a nice luncheon at C&O Cucina.
We had our annual Dads & Grads service a week early because of the Southern District Conference next week. Five out of our nine high school grads were present to receive congratulatory certificates from the BCA.
We held our combined Hanamatsuri (Buddha’s birthday) and Hatsumairi (infant presentation ceremony). We are happy to introduce three new babies to the Amida Buddha.
