Eitaikyo Service

We held our Eitaikyo service, when we remembered all those whose contributions to the temple in the past allow us to continue to hear the dharma today. After the service, we recognized the attainment of Kaikyoshi status by Rev. Kory Quon, and also celebrated his birthday during otoki.

Cave Temples of Dunhuang

At the beginning of September, several members of the VHBT visited the Getty Museum to see a special exhibit featuring Buddhist artwork in a replica of cave temples located in China.

2016 Southern District Buddhist & BWA Conference

This year’s conference was co-hosted by Buddhist Temple of San Diego and Vista Buddhist Temple. Dads & Grads Service

We had our annual Dads & Grads service a week early because of the Southern District Conference next week. Five out of our nine high school grads were present to receive congratulatory certificates from the BCA.

New Windows

There was something very different about last Sunday’s Dharma School service. Yes, we could actually hear Rev. Kory speak! New double-paned windows were installed upstairs.

ABA Aloha Breakfast

The VHBT ABA held their annual Aloha Breakfast, featuring their famous cha shu fried rice, sausage, eggs, grilled pineapple, Hawaiian sweet roll, and orange wedges. Afterwards, morning service was officiated by our Ministerial Assistants.
