The following outlines the protocols for visiting the Venice Hongwanji Buddhist Temple as of 2/10/23.
All visitors should:
- Ensure that you are healthy and free from any symptoms of illness before visiting the temple.
- Sign-in to the Visitors Log upon entry to the temple.
- If you test positive for COVID up to 5 days after your visit:
- Contact the Venice Hongwanji Buddhist Temple so we may inform others of possible exposure. Note: your identity will remain confidential for the purposes of contact tracing.
- Contact your physician for possible/recommended treatment.
The wearing of masks is not required but is strongly recommended.
If a visitor should test positive for COVID, the temple administrative staff will contact all who visited the temple during the same date & time (based on the Visitor’s Log) and make the following recommendations, based on Los Angeles County Public Health Instructions for Close Contacts:
- Wear a mask for 10 days when indoors around others.
- Take a COVID test between 3 and 5 days after the visit.
- If the test is negative, continue wearing a mask for 10 days.
- If the test is positive, isolate for 5 days and retest, and please contact the temple as to your positive test.
- If a retest on the 5th day is negative and there are no symptoms, can end isolation.
